It is the beginning of 2010, I am 34 years old, and 50 pounds overweight.
I have struggled for years to lose the weight, trying diet after diet, only to fail and gain any losses back almost immediately. I am done with the fad diets and have turned yet another new leaf. I will lose this weight by proper diet and exercise, and I will blog about it along the way.
I suffer from hypothyroidism which I was diagnosed with shortly after I was afflicted with Guillain-Barré Syndrome 12 years ago. I now use a wheelchair, but have started to walk more using a walker or crutches.
There are a few obstacles which have played a key role in my struggle to lose the weight all these years. I definitely have more things standing in my way than just squelching my appetite and getting enough exercise, but I love a challenge.
I live in the Tampa, FL area, and I am a single mother of one beautiful daughter. I am hoping my blogs will help to inspire others and give them hope that they can do it too.
Here is my other blog which tracks my walking progress:
You are beautiful Shannon, my 13 year old is in a wheelchair and has been for 4 months and she is not getting a proper diagnosis from the medical system. She has extreme vertigo with no answers. I can so relate to your struggles on the weight side and the wheelchair challenges due to my daughter.
hugs again
Michelle
Michelle,
I am very sorry to hear of your daughter’s struggle at such a young age. The good news is she is young! Keep her positive (as I am very sure you do) and motivated and she’ll get through this.
Please keep me posted on her diagnosis and progress. If she needs an ear, I’m a great listener with lots of experience in the wheelchair area 😉
God bless you both and best of luck to you!
We can do this!
Have a look at my About Me story for the whole story of her 2 year downhill spiral. I think we were meant to be friends! lol
I agree, it was fate! 😀
